Character Info
◎ Character's Name: Soushi Miketsukami
◎ Character's Canon: Youko x Boku SS (manga)
◎ Character's Age: 21
◎ Canon Point: post-Chapter 36
◎ Background/History: Here is the canon's background and here is the previous Soushi's history; however due to this particular character being from a different reincarnation cycle compare to the main Soushi I've typed up this version's backstory and canon history.
Soushi's story -- just like in the beginning of the first arc -- begins on a winter day on December 19; under the Miketsukami household, a young Soushi was reborn. The whereabouts of his parents are currently unknown to him because he does not know them nor was given the chance to meet them. The clan separated him from his parents due to being born as an Atavist, the reincarnation of the original ancestor responsible for bringing fortune and power to the family. An Atavist is someone who inherits traits from a distant ancestor. Characteristics that may have been laid dormant for generations, and will only manifest on the chosen Atavist from the moment they are born due to the Atavist sharing the same birthday as their ancestor along with other unique characteristics. In Soushi's case, however, he was born with the genes of the nefarious nine-tailed fox demon.
For as long as he could remember, Soushi has been placed under strict house arrest by the Miketsukami household, locked away in a small room -- surrounded by video cameras -- in an unknown location that only a specific few of the Miketsukami clan knew of its exact location. The Miketsukami family believe in the idea of treating their ancestors by fully dominating their every movement and aspect of their life, in order to be given greater fortune and power. Due to their tight grip on him and keeping him isolated from the rest of the world, Soushi was raised in an environment that lacked both genuine affection from others and freedom as his activities were always monitored on a day-to-day basis. His entire world revolved around his tiny house prison with a single maid looking after his every need -- like offering him food and clothing. Unlike the previous reincarnation cycle, the maid was changed from a young adult into a more elderly one, so the current Soushi would not get the idea of manipulating the older woman unlike the much younger maid. The job of the maid was not only to look after Soushi's every need, but to discourage the idea of wishing to obtain freedom out of the tiny room -- by reminding him of the gruesome details of his death from his previous incarnation for leaving the safety of the household.
At first, their tactics in keeping Soushi trapped was working as the current Soushi began to form a passive soul that wanted nothing to do with the outside world. Never once, unlike in his previous life, did he grow the desire nor curiosity for freedom. And to be certain he never did, the family made certain to never allow Soushi to leave his room, not even allowing him to go to school unlike in his past life. However, unbeknownst to the members of the clan, the current Soushi was having visions about a girl with long dark hair whom was going to save him from his prison. A vision he kept to himself as he did not fully understand the full meaning behind them other than she was going to save him.
The vision came true, but not in the way he believed it was going to happen.
Before he was a teenager, Ayame Shoukiin, the woman that saved him from his previous life, came to his rescue instead of the girl from his vision. Still, it was through her that Soushi was able to obtain his new-found freedom due to the request of a certain girl known as Ririchiyo Shirakiin. She had begged Ayame, before her own untimely death, to save Soushi because Ayame had done so once before and believed she will be the only one capable of saving him again. Throughout the time Soushi was living with Ayame's family, she had taught Soushi how to speak (he was somewhat mute), the proper way to act in social gatherings, and home-schooled him until he was able to reach his level of education -- in other words, Ayame was teaching Soushi the necessary skills that his past self possessed.
Once he was able to reach high school, Soushi's life was transformed from a solitary lifestyle to a more normal lifestyle. He went to high school like any other student. He had childhood friends that he would spend time with like all normal teenagers. He had a roof over his head, protection from the Miketsukami clan, and just everything a normal teenager would need to live a very satisfying life. However, even though he was free from his prison, he continue to have not only visions, but a longing to meet Ririchiyo, the girl with long hair from his visions. He was always being constantly reminded of her whenever another woman with long, dark hair stood by his side. The vision was a trigger for his longing to meet her. As the longing to meet her began to grow, he decided to do a bit of research over his past self. Ayame gave him the necessary information to know that he highly respected her and had strong affections towards her. Somewhere along the way, he realized about the type of individual he used to be from his own research over it. Just like in the present cycle, Ririchiyo had saved the past Soushi further prompting the current Soushi in wanting to meet and return his gratitude towards her kindness.
After graduating from high school and leaving the safety of the Shoukiin household, Soushi moved into Mansion de Ayakashi, the building designed to protect other Atavist, alongside Zange Natsume and Kagerou Shoukiin -- his childhood friends. Just like in the past life, Soushi had decided to become Ririchiyo's SS agent and was going to follow all the necessary steps that his previous self took to do so. Upon meeting and introducing himself to the current Ririchiyo, he realized that his appearance and way of acting has affected her more deeply than he would have ever imagined. He knew over the details of his death, so it was clear that the previous Soushi's death continue to leave a heavy mark over her. With those observations in mind, Soushi began to further research over the previous Soushi, in order, to add more of his traits onto himself as a way to help Ririchiyo relax in his presence.
At first, his own plan was beginning to take form as he found numerous ways to keep Ririchiyo from rejecting him as her SS agent just like his previous self had. He was even able to cheer her up over showing interest in wanting to get to know her better by learning more about her favorite books. Unlike in the previous life, the present Soushi never got the chance to get to know Ririchiyo better through letter writing, so he had to start from square one in getting to know her better while constantly observing her every movement. Luckily, they were able to form a great relationship as friends, the more the current Ririchiyo began to trust him. That is, until the current Ririchiyo accidentally met her childhood friend from the previous life known as Renshou Soronizuka. His presence was able to crack the current Ririchiyo's memories as she realizes that the Soushi by her side isn't the same Soushi from her memories. Not only was Soushi different, everything about the Ayakashi in, another way to call the Maison de Ayakashi, was different. The sudden realization had her separate from Soushi's side over to Renshou's, where she fainted in his arms due to her mind being unable to accept the truth.
The horrifying revelation over the changes in her current and past lives left a traumatic mark on Ririchiyo that even after regaining consciousness at the hospital she continue to search for the Soushi of her memories even when she had the current Soushi in front of her. With no way of finding a way around the situation, as current Soushi knew if he allowed Ririchiyo to fall deeper into despair then her soul would begin to shatter, he decided to proposition the idea of allowing Ririchiyo to believe he was the Soushi of the past instead of the currently reborn one. It went as far as the current Soushi abandoning his glasses -- the mark that differentiated him from his previous incarnation.
And that's how the romantic relationship from the past cycle between Ririchiyo and Soushi began once again in their new reincarnation cycle as it was more than enough to calm Ririchiyo's anxieties and even block the memories of her past life from overtaking her.
They lived a peaceful life together alongside the other tenants of the apartment complex by creating cheerful memories with them; however it slowly began to change once more when Ririchiyo began to realize the differences between the two Soushis as she got to know better the one by her side. That realization along with Kagerou's meddling in forcing her to recognize and accept the past Soushi's death was more than enough for Ririchiyo to break her ties with the current Soushi as a way to both move on and protect him from the investigation over the group's past deaths.
But unbeknownst to her and the rest of the group, Soushi was doing his own investigations over the past cycle as he didn't want to give up on gaining Ririchiyo's favor once more. It is revealed to Natsume and Kagerou that the current Soushi didn't have any past memories of his previous reincarnation cycle and has been relying on other people's descriptions of his past self as a way to create the previous Soushi's personality. After recognizing Soushi's advance investigation skills, Natsume decides to secretly work with Soushi in gathering more information about cases of other Atavists losing their humanity and turning to full-demons and Inugami Mikoto, the mastermind behind the previous groups sudden death.
Soushi continues to do his research until the group discovers that Inugami has gone after Shimon Satorighara, the official leader of the Atavists in Japan and reason behind the creation of the Secret Service system and apartment complex. Needless to say, Soushi arrived to the scene, after being informed about it from Natsume, and was able to successfully rescue Ririchiyo from getting fatally injured by another Atavist's attacks, who was currently suffering from Inugami's demon curse.
Their reunion becomes bittersweet as Ririchiyo orders Soushi to leave her side because she was no longer his master and didn't have to protect her. Soushi, on the other hand, grows irritated by her claims and begins to badmouth his previous self by revealing his past self's methods in gaining his freedom was by seducing and manipulating all types of women as a way to prove that he was better suited to be with Ririchiyo than his past self was; however his plan backfires as Ririchiyo continues to view the current Soushi as the past Soushi which makes him plea for her to notice his current self. His attention was fully engrossed on his master that he doesn't realize that the Atavist -- which he had previous attacked to save Ririchiyo -- had regained consciousness and was about to attack him until Ririchiyo protected him by using her body to shield him from it.
After everything regarding Inugami and the solution for their current situation has been momentarily taken care of, Soushi remains by Ririchiyo's side as she was taken to the hospital. She regains her consciousness and is greeted by a guilty Soushi who begins to question the reason behind her decision in protecting him was for his past self's sake, then he begins to confess his love towards her. Ririchiyo rejects his feelings by admitting her love for his past self while at the same time offering her gratitude in having him been given the chance to be born in their current world. Soushi accepts her earnest feelings as more than enough for him to feel rewarded and decides to help her in saving the previous Soushi by writing her time capsule letter to warn the characters from the past cycle over their deaths. Which he does -- writes her and his letter to their past versions of themselves.
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? No, he isn't a hacker, but he does have a good sixth sense due to his position as an Atavist -- or a hybrid between demon and human -- and Secret Service Agent. Due to his demon blood, Soushi can sense other full-demons or half-demons, and is able to quickly notice if someone is watching or behind him. As long as the individual is a threat to him or his master or he isn't preoccupied withemotional angst moments or other matters, then he'll quickly notice them. He can interact with the supernatural, but he rather avoid them as most supernatural creatures like to attack or trap him.
◎ Personality: Reincarnation is a word that many people know the meaning of. Be it from learning the word through a dictionary, story, or religion, it's a process not many people can claim to fully experience nor understand. However, Soushi Miketsukami isn't part of those "many people" because he was born from a line that goes through one reincarnation cycle onto another due to his lineage as an Atavist. The current Soushi doesn't possesses memories of his past life unlike the other characters, but he does have knowledge of the type of individual his past self was and keeps it close to mind whenever he is playing the role of said individual, in order to better comfort Ririchiyo, his current master, from her panic attacks by forcefully making her believe he is the man of the past rather than the naive, observant, polite, and hardworking man of the present. Just like the Soushi from his previous life, he works as an SS agent, better known as Secret Service or bodyguard, to his master Ririchiyo Shirakiin.
There are many similarities between the two men such as their dedication to their line of work by trying to play the role of the perfect servant, their kindness, their polite and easy-going nature, their over-protectiveness, their devotion and loyalty to their master, and their determination to do anything that is necessary to keep their master happy. Yet, they share many differences as well. For one, the current Soushi is more expressive than his counterpart, manipulative, playful, forceful, and breaks out of character every so often unlike his past self would. Along with those traits, the current Soushi is even more secretive and awkward than his past self, and takes a more passive than active role in the story (until the end of the arc).
Upon first glance, many people will first note of Soushi's gentle, polite, and kind demeanor especially when it is directed towards his master. He might even seem like a harmless soul that will never lay a finger on another person's head. A playful and energetic man that is not afraid to offer compliments of all kinds -- from expressing his satisfaction of a person's appearance, their more positive personality traits, and even negative traits, such as telling bad jokes. Offering a lending hand whenever something important is needed to be checked or worked on. Dedication to his line of work by constantly keeping his master safe from harm by always monitoring her every moment are other traits a person will notice without fully knowing him. His calm and innocent demeanor has a way to charm those around him into lowering their guard. Patience is a quality he has mastered whenever he takes the role of his past self. It is rare for him to show any kind of anger, threatening aura (unless Kagerou is close by), or any other emotions that could easily overwhelm other people. His high observation skills further assist him in noticing the social cues of other people -- better known as the expectations other characters have for him -- whenever he is in a social setting. Soushi is always trying his hardest to remain on the good side of whoever he crosses paths with. He treats other people the way they expect for him to treat them as. Even if he is all about social appearance and expectations, Soushi is not the type to go out of his way to help others if he does not have a reason to do so. If there is no positive outcome from offering his assistance or if Ririchiyo does not order him to offer a helping hand, then he will not bother to willingly offer it. On the contrary, he will outright ignore the problem by minding his own business. For example, in one of the chapters, Soushi is seen ignoring a little boy and his dog that were in trouble (a parody of Patrasche and Nello's death scene), a woman expressing concern over her boyfriend forgetting her, and even ignoring a man desperately asking for help over his unconscious girlfriend. This side of Soushi is one of his true faces -- selfish, only looking out for himself, and calculating. There is never a time Soushi is never observing his surroundings and thinking of ways to be one or even two steps ahead of everyone else.
His priorities may seem easy to notice, at first glance, but his motivations and ways of thinking are not. Soushi is a master in hiding his true self by pretending to play the role of a character that only shows their more innocent, more positive qualities. His smiles are an example of only showing his more positive traits than his true face or inner thoughts. Soushi only expresses what he wishes to show. It is strange for him to show his true self unless he cannot contain himself or is having a difficult time playing his role. For example, when Ririchiyo, his master, wonders if Soushi will get mad for being the subject of the group's joke, she is surprise to learn that he does not care over their shenanigans, even if they do target him. His words caused her to feel confuse because even when he admits in not caring for the others -- he continue to smile around the others as though he does care for them.
On the other hand, even if he isn't the type to easily help other people without gaining something in return -- he still wishes for Ririchiyo and all those surrounding him to use him. Throughout the story, Soushi continues to manifest his humble and servitude personality by degrading himself into a lower level -- such as calling himself a "dog". The only exception he offers his master in the orders that he feels most uncomfortable to follow are the ones that place him in a higher level over her. For example, when Ririchiyo asks for Soushi to be her social etiquette teacher by allowing him to offer her penalties whenever she makes a mistake, he had a hard time deciding if he should help or not because such a situation has never happened before in the past life. That is the reason behind him finding ways to tactfully guide Ririchiyo to the path that he wants her to take in order to avoid situations as the one explained before. Although he doesn't feel comfortable being place in a higher level than his master, it doesn't stop him from guilt-tripping his master in different ways to keep her in the setting that he feels most comfortable in. For example, he uses those methods whenever she tries to release him from his services by making her believe he will harm himself. Other times, he uses his exaggerated language as proof over his deep dedication towards her -- such as explaining "if it is for her, then he could await for her return in front of a train station for several years in the freezing cold" (a parody of Hatchiko). While other times, he simply uses his puppy-like expressions to melt his master's tough exterior in allowing him to do as he wishes. Be it serving her breakfast, accompanying her to school, or carrying an umbrella for her -- he wants to do everything in his power to be the only one seen in her eyes. And although he doesn't offer the same diligent assistance for other characters outside of his master, he does accept to do other people favors.
There are many mysteries and discrepancies surrounding the current Soushi Miketsukami. Some which both the main and side characters try to solve by trying to force him to break from character and react differently as a way to get to know him better -- the true Soushi. Many of the characters have taken notice of the tiny details that make him different from the past version of himself. Like, for example, the relationships he has for those living within the Maison de Ayakashi are different compare to his past form. For one, the previous Soushi regarded everyone, interacted with everyone, and shared a unique relationship with each of the tenants of the mansion while remaining in his comfort zone. While the current Soushi, on the other hand, is kind and helpful to those living within the mansion, but even so, he keeps them at a fair distance away from him -- never allowing them to get close enough to meet his true self. Nevertheless, the current Soushi works hard to get along with each of them by following their games, jokes, and even offering a helping hand to any sort of favors they currently ask from him. Whenever he has a difficult time reacting to certain circumstances, the current Soushi always reminds himself that the past version of himself was always the type to be optimistic and notice the best of others, never reacting negatively to anything the others can do to him even if it would normally make someone lose their temper. Like, for example, by never reacting negatively if they sexually harass him, use offensive language in his presence, or abuse his kindness by ordering him to do the impossible. However, it is made clear throughout the story that he does not personally care for them. The reason he reacts the way he does is due to trying to keep the Atavists -- that do fully remember their past lives and personas -- on their toes as they have a difficult time trying to read his personality and motives.
Soushi is persistent, and once he becomes absorbed in someone or something, then he will do everything he can to achieve it even after being rejected or failing to gain it. In this current reincarnation cycle, he uses his persistence as a way to break down a person's defenses or gain their trust. To Ririchiyo, he uses it as a way to gain her trust and affections even after she rejects him. To the others in the Maison de Ayakashi, he uses it to make it seem as though he does possess some memories of his past life, in order, to keep the others from feeling suspicious of him. He even uses it to learn on the proper way to dodge Natsume's abilities from reading his mind or motives.
Another trait Soushi holds is his possessiveness over Ririchiyo. He is easily prone to jealousy whenever other men flirt with or touch her, but he doesn't show it. Instead he continues to act as his calm and polite self during those times, he shows his jealousy by either tactfully (or in Kagerou's case, literally) punishing the person whom is offering too much attention to Ririchiyo or punishing Ririchiyo, herself, in the form of a penalty game (which no one knows what it specifically is about because the panel goes to black).
As explained before over his selfish wish in wanting to keep Ririchiyo to himself by only making her see him, Soushi is unable to control his more darker aspect of his emotions because he has never experience emotions such as love, jealousy, or competitiveness before. Unlike the Soushi of the past whom always remained calm over the matters concerning his emotions by always reminding himself of his position through self-loathing, the current Soushi does not have those type of thoughts holding him back. Due to his lack of experience in working in obtaining certain relationships, Soushi is prone to becoming possessive and speaking his mind without a second thought. There is never a moment when Soushi does not openly express his love for Ririchiyo especially whenever she falls into a deep depression over her own bad attitude by reminding her of her good qualities instead. But even so, in the beginning of the story, Soushi did not originally hold intense emotions for Ririchiyo because he only wished to be her SS agent as a way to prove his gratitude towards her for saving him. Falling in love, the idea of wanting to be himself around that person, and wanting to get to know the other person better -- they are all new emotions and desires that he has never experienced before. All of Soushi's relationships with other people were all given to him, without having to lift a finger. For example, the only reason Ayame helped him was due to her fond affections for the previous Soushi; the only reason Natsume and Kagerou spend time with him was due to their past relationship in their previous life, and due to his charm he was able to attract other girls into liking him for only being handsome and polite -- acting like every girl's dream guy.
Needless to say, emotions are a complicated topic for the current Soushi. Due to his lonely and hollow past, he had to slowly learn to recognize emotions late in his childhood unlike normal children that are born and raised in a different type of environment, so it takes him a while to recognize or even control the darker aspect of his emotions (whenever his outer mask is gone). To properly describe the true Soushi, the current Soushi without his mask, is by comparing his emotional level to one of a small child. He is not usually the type to easily lose his anger or any other negative emotions unless he was alone or unable to contain his emotions any longer. Even then, he is cautious over the behavior he expresses in front of other people unless he has nothing to lose in doing so. The level of his patience differs from the type of relationship he has with each character because he might easily lose his temper with Kagerou, but it takes a lot for him to lose his patience with Ririchiyo. Actually, Ririchiyo is the only person who, he believes, has genuinely shown him true kindness by accepting his quirkiness, offering him new experiences that he has never had the chance to explore, and giving him presents as a way to prove her own gratitude for his service or in a form of an apology for treating him poorly. No one has ever tried to crack through his outer mask without an ulterior motive influencing them. The mere idea of having someone that cares about him -- even if it is due to being the reincarnation of his past self -- has truly touched his heart.
Rejection is one of the emotions he does not wish to suffer through. That is why the true Soushi is a man that is clueless over the best way in handling his emotions once his mask has been stripped away from him. He is more blunt with his words, forceful, and a true sadist by the way he easily teases other people and shamelessly speaks his perverted thoughts (which are quickly masked by his polite words). It is clear by the way he views his relationship with Ririchiyo that he feels envy and resentment against his former self especially when he learns of the ways the past Soushi used to manipulate other women and sleep with them all in the name of acquiring his freedom. A desire that he finds entirely selfish. He knew the past Soushi was deeply in love with Ririchiyo, but his resentment against him easily clouded his judgement by forcing him to believe that the past Soushi was only fooling around with the past Ririchiyo by using her for his own selfish games. But without his own realization, the current Soushi is really describing himself more than his past self. Throughout the story, whenever Ririchiyo ran away from him, Soushi would always turn those moments into a game by always chasing after her even when she tells him to stop. The current Soushi treated their relationship as a game from the way he tactfully teases her (which can sometimes come off as menacing to Ririchiyo), guilt-trips her into allowing him to do what he likes such as serving her, and forcefully holding her past persona back by making her believe he was the past Soushi (which hurts her both mentally and emotionally once she snaps out of it).
Soushi might be difficult to read (which makes him a master in poker), but he is an helpful, kind, and a tactfully honest person that feels lonely. Even if he is a bit distant towards other people, the true Soushi is a naive man with so little experience in forming relationships with other people that it could have easily been seen as awkward if it were not for his natural skills in emulating, observing, and charming. Granted, he might be a bit manipulative and possessive towards those he cares the most for. Even so, once Soushi feels comfortable in showing his true self (even in small doses) to those he loves the most, then he will not lose the chance to show his true colors and have fun. He might be energetic, a tease, and good at stringing people along by using his charm, but he really is another victim that only wants to find someone that can genuinely understand him.
◎ Powers/Abilities: Soushi inherited the abilities of the nefarious nine-tails fox demon. As an Atavist -- a person with the ability to channel their ancestor's traits -- his abilities are enhanced in stamina, speed, strength, and dexterity compare to that of a normal human being. He is known as one of the most powerful and skillful swordsmen in the group of half-youkai -- half-demon -- of the Ayakashi Apartment Complex. There is a reason behind Soushi being part of the SS; even though his demeanor gives him more of the appearance of a pacifist than an actual warrior.
As he has inherited his ancestor's abilities, he has the power to transform into his half-demon appearance of the nine-tails fox demon. His transformation is easy to take notice of as his clothes and hair color change, he grows a pair of fox ears and nine fox tails, and an avalanche of cheery blossoms surround the room. Normally, in his SS form, Soushi does not carry a weapon, but in his transformation a katana is given to him as his chosen weapon. Although he does not usually carry a weapon around, he is able to summon his katana at a moment's notice, but he usually does not do so unless he is fighting another demon or atavist from the view of the public eye.
In Japanese legends, the abilities of the nine-tails fox demon, other than talented in fighting, are masters of illusions and transformations. Soushi inherited the ability to create all types of different illusions such as making as many copies of himself as he can control (which is less than 7). If one copy receives a single damage, then all of the other copies will receive and feel it. Another ability he gained due to his ancestor is the ability to change or alter his appearance to that of a younger version of himself, to another gender, and transform into anyone he chooses. As long as the person is alive and human, then he has no limit to whoever he can transform to. But unlike Watanuki, he cannot transform into an animal nor take the form of one.
Another ability he holds is to teleport from any given area. In both the manga and anime, we notice him using this particular technique during a fight, but it would seem there is a limit to it. For one, Soushi cannot teleport to a far away destination because he needs to know precisely which location he is heading to, indicating that his teleporting abilities are only used for short distances. As long as he is able to see his destination, then he is able to appear to said location.
In the official Inu x Boku SS guidebook, Soushi's current stats are added, which goes as follows:
Stamina -- 5/5
Speed -- 3.5/5
Strength -- 4.5/5
Dexterity -- 5/5
Grip Strength -- Strong
Lung Capacity -- Strong
◎ Weapons & Other Special Inventory:
✦ Japanese katana.
✦ Car and apartment keys.
✦ Glasses.
✦ Wallet.
✦ Extra paper and pen.
CEREALIA-Specific
◎ Element: Fire.
I believe fire best describes as Soushi's element because of the symbolism and description it is given. Fire has the ability to "give warmth" and have the capacity to "burn and destroy", and those under this element are known to be passionate, have great strength, assertiveness, and have incredible energy -- all of which Soushi has. Plus, fox demons are known to be connected to fire elements as much as illusions in Japanese legends.
◎ Sense: Touch.
Touch is very important to Soushi as it is the only sense he believes to be the most reliable compare to the other ones. After being haunted with images of a girl with long dark hair calling out to him, he doesn't place a lot of trust in the other senses as he feels that touch is what helps one realize what is real or isn't.
◎ Seven Character Traits: Devoted, polite, and resourceful. Afraid of rejection, possessive, and manipulative. Tenacious.

A month has passed ever since his arrival to the colony known as Cerealia. A lot has happened since then. For one, Soushi was informed and even given proof over the state of his world, the very same world where his master from the past should reside in -- if the group's plan to save their past selves was accomplished -- was invaded by creatures from outer space and he was saved due to his data being saved in a back up computer of some kind. At first, Soushi did not fully believe in his host's claims over the matter because Natsume would have noticed through his ability of his youkai ancestor to see the future. Then again, due to the delicate situation concerning Inugami, the mastermind behind their previous deaths, Natsume has been unable to fully use his clairvoyant abilities. Maybe the alien creatures, somehow, used the opportunity to invade when the planet's defenses were currently weak or even before the time capsule could be buried by the tree. It was the only way he could, more or less, accept the situation as it was without thinking about the implications over his own current existence. He had enough issues to work on concerning his feelings towards his previous version of himself. After all, his master was madly in love with him, so he needed to change the way he felt about him and her if he wanted his wish to become a reality.
Now, regardless if he accepted the claim or not, he had no choice over the matter as he is unable to return home for the time being, so he decided to cooperate as best as he can with those in charge of his current setting. He has learned and mastered the proper way to use the tablet he was given. It was used to communicate with those in his similar situation. As much as he would have liked to avoid communicating with them, Soushi knew he needed to interact with them to gain more information outside of Ceres. There were two types of groups: those that knew as much as he did while others were kind enough to help him settle down in his new home away from home and spare some information as well. Soushi has never spoken with so many humans before -- some were similar to his situation with mix blood in their veins while others were fully human except they held some kind of paranormal skill. There were even intelligent demons, aliens, personified seasons, and other mixes in-between. It was definitely a different world compare to the one he was from. There were even times he felt very at peace in the current setting because everyone were in equal footing in their own way. Then again, everyone held a similar goal -- to restore their world to the way it once was. A goal he shared just as much especially when his master's existence and future was at stake.
One of his primary goals after arriving to the new world was to gain as much knowledge as he possibly can. Learning more about ViViD, those residing in Cerelia, and finding a good team to work with until he felt confident enough to work on his own. Along with those details, he learned more about the difference between credits and points, what they can be used for, and other details regarding the world's technology. Needless to say, Soushi was using the first three months of rent-free to do as much as he could before searching for another job to support himself with. As far as he knew, wasn't he technically already working for his hosts if he accepted their missions and got paid any way? It was definitely a question he has reflected over many times before, but for now has decided to leave it in the back of his mind.
Right now, he had something far more precious to worry about: in gaining his own CYbuddy. After learning over their usefulness from one of the robots found within the city, Soushi could not help begin to grow curious over this subject and began to do his research about them. However, it wasn't their amazing intellectual capabilities nor usefulness that has Soushi wanting, no desperately desiring for one of his own.
"What a shame. I still do not have enough credits saved to acquire one of my own just yet," began to say Soushi with a downhearted tone of voice. His gaze will turn to the CYbuddy that has his most attention: a small butterfly with multiple shades of purple onto its wings. A tiny hopeful smile will appear upon gazing on the robot pet of his dreams before he begins to say out loud to no one in particular, "Ririchiyo-sama, please forgive my impudence regarding this matter. My only wish is to remain by your side and protect you. Although I have wished to become your son in our next life, I do not believe I can abruptly change my feelings to those of a love to a child from those of a lover. I believe it could be possible by using this creature, that greatly resembles your grace and beauty and diligence, to change those feelings while removing some of my current loneliness. Her name will be Chiyo-sama. I do hope it will bring you happiness to know all of this..."
The butterfly design was the true reason behind his desire to acquire a buddy -- they resembled the colors and beauty of his master. There was no other reason than it was going to be used as reminder, or even symbol, of his strong desire to accomplish his final promise to Ririchiyo even if it means he needs to go out of his way to be more active and social to those who were not his own kind and reminded him of his own clan. Which means, Soushi will be searching for a second job after all.

As long as the individual is a threat to him or his master or he isn't preoccupied with
◎ Personality: Reincarnation is a word that many people know the meaning of.
